Cornered Part 1: Set in Stone

Cornered Part 1: Set in Stone

Prior to the industrial age, buildings, especially masonry buildings, were built by using a “cornerstone” it was the most important starting point of a building. All the dimensions, the quality, and security of the building were determined by the quality and placement of the cornerstone. In this first talk, Mark focuses on our place of stability in spiritual warfare – the cornerstone. In light of this, we began the morning message contemplating the Serenity Prayer including the little known second verse.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will;
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life, and supremely happy with You forever in the next. by Reinhold Niebuhr
