Music Ensembles and Descriptions

River Rising— The Sunday morning worship band. River Rising leads worship on Sunday mornings and participates in outreach events throughout the year. All members attend weekly rehearsals and through the summer, section rehearsals. Participation in River Rising occurs after attending a set amount of rehearsals, meeting with the music director, and meeting with the Pastor. In instances where available instruments/positions are limited, new members may be asked to participate in Strong Current (praise band) or through a developed rotation within River Rising. 

Strong Current —The second praise band within the church. Strong Current was developed to meet the needs of participants and allow for weekly rehearsals and opportunities for outreach. Strong Current leads worship once every 6-8 weeks and participates in outreach events throughout the year. Participation in Strong Current occurs after attending a set number of rehearsals, meeting with the music director, and meeting with the pastor.

FBC Choir —The primary vocal ensemble within the church. The choir meets weekly from September through May and shares music during worship services once per month. The Choir also shares music through seasonal cantatas, and community outreach. Participation occurs after meeting with the choir director.

FBC Vocal Ensemble —The second vocal ensemble within the church. The vocal ensemble consists of members of the choir, vocalists from the praise bands, and any instrumentalist who wishes to sing. The vocal ensemble shares music once per month and typically presents traditional hymns from the sanctuary hymn books. Participation occurs after meeting with the choir director and music director. The FBC Vocal Ensemble rehearses on Sunday mornings. 

FBC Children’s Choir —The children’s choir meets during the worship service when children are excused for junior church. The ensemble meets twice per month and rehearses music for bi-monthly presentations during the worship service. On Sunday’s when the children’s choir does not rehearse, the children remain in the classrooms.  

FBC Hand Bell Choir —The FBC Hand Bell Choir rehearses on a limited schedule during the spring of Each year. The Hand Bell Choir shares music during one worship service each spring. Participation occurs after meeting with the music director.
